Four months ago, it was time for our yearly Christmas donation.
We always try to find initiatives and organizations with a playful aspect in order to light up some people's lives. This time we decided to support two wonderful organizations… drum roll…
Jugendhaus Kiwi and Spielehaus e.V..
Jugendhaus Kiwi is one out of 31 houses for kids and teens in the area of Esslingen, Germany where about 200 helpers host events, do handicrafts, play games, or open up the cafe for everyone. Since it is located in an old castle district there are even Kiwi-Nights in the castle cellar.
In spring, they also give children the opportunity to use many craft and game supplies in the schoolyards of Wernau. Every Friday afternoon, Kiwi brings a tractor and its “Spimo” (play mobile) filled with outdoor games and much more to make the after-school activities more fun. With our donation we are happy to contribute towards their new “Spimo”, waiting for its first use.
Founded in 1993 in an old barn in Halle, the Spielehaus e.V. started to spread its mission, to show and teach people more about various cultures in a playful way. Therefore, they are organizing game-evenings, pub quizzes, and summer parties. At their cafe you can test over 300 games for free or read books from their library. They open up their doors to all ages and encourage the inclusion of every single visitor.
