Would you like to get to know some of the people behind your favorite games? Our "Meet our Team Members" posts will introduce you to one of our GameDuell team members every week.
Our guest this week is Anne, one of our product managers!
“Hey Anne! Could you briefly introduce yourself? Where do you come from?”
I was born in the Eastern Part of Germany, in Leipzig. I then lived in a smaller town called Paderborn for a couple of years. And then I finally moved to Berlin 13 years ago.
From Leipzig, to Paderborn and now Berlin. That might seem like a lot of moving around for Anne. But as Berlin is known as the European Silicon Valley, it is definitely the right place for someone who wants to work in the field of online games!
“What is your role here at GameDuell?”I started working in the Product Team at GameDuell straight after University. Over the last 10 years my responsibilities within the field of Product development have changed slightly. I started with a strong focus on Conversion, which means engaging Players to upgrade their accounts. The more mature the platform became, the greater the need to invest in ways to keep the players motivated to play at GameDuell became. I started to concentrate more on Community Insights to better understand the needs and wishes of our players so that we can match them with our products. My tasks are diverse. I create surveys, analyze data and join meetings to align with other teams.
It seems like Anne has a variety of tasks here at GameDuell. Keeping players entertained, making them feel comfortable and especially encouraging them to play. It must be a huge workload. If you are required that much, it really is important to have fun at work.
Working in a great environment with nice colleagues sounds like a lot of fun. But like the great Stephen King said: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". So her job is to work with video games all day, what does she do in her free time?
“When you’re not at GameDuell, what do you do in your spare time?”
I try to find the right balance between play date activities with my kids and enjoying the vibrant city of Berlin with my friends by going to restaurants, bars and markets.
Thank you very much, Anne. We hope you’ve got a small insight into the life of a Product Manager. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to write to us on Twitter or Facebook. Or just leave a comment! ;)
