Together, we can make a difference! 🌊🤝

Our recent donation supports the impactful work of “WeMakeWaves”, a sports-based program for children and teenagers aged 10-16 who reside in homeless shelters in Berlin. With 80-90% of participants having a migrant background and refugee experiences, the project aims to create positive waves in their lives.

The team of WeMakeWaves e.V.

By providing sports equipment and facilitating activities in skate parks, lakes, parks, swimming pools, and even the North Sea, WeMakeWaves introduces children and teens to various recreational opportunities across Berlin and Germany.

We love how the diversity of the programme allows participants to learn a great variety of useful skills, and creates positive memories.

The participants engage in regular swimming lessons, improving their physical fitness and water safety skills. Surf-skating lessons combine elements of surfing and skateboarding.

However, the programme offers more than just sports!

Group activities that promote teamwork, empathy, effective communication and self-assertion exercises allow the participants to build confidence while fostering social connections and enhancing their language skills.

The project also promotes awareness of environmental issues and sustainable living practices, which provides practical knowledge for positive action. Nutritional topics teach about living healthily and the importance of eating a balanced diet.

The highlight of the project? A six-day surf camp on Sylt during the Berlin summer holidays! 🏄‍♂️

These camps provide a unique opportunity for participants to connect with nature, enhance their ability to overcome challenges, and to experience the joy of riding the waves while making new friends!

Join the Wave to empower these young individuals. Your support for WeMakeWaves can make a lasting impact. 🌊🤝
