How does a good year come to an end? With a good party, correct. The GameDuell team came together to have its jamboree Christmas party last Friday! As the company was founded in late 2003 we also took the opportunity to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
The evening began with the last company meeting of the year in our lounge. Following a review of the year’s milestones, an update on our business situation combined with an introduction of the focus areas for 2013, our three company founders Kai Bolik, Boris Wasmuth and Michael Kalkowski reminisced about the most remarkable moments of the company’s history. From founding the company and moving into our first location, growing the team and managing some technical challenges during the growth process, our founders shared memorable moments such as organizing the first real life tournaments on TV, shooting video spots with German actor Heiner Lauterbach and expanding from office to office, each time designing the locations to our needs. At the conclusion of their presentation, the team surprised them with an audio quiz that was secretly prepared. The three founders were asked to guess ten sound samples from classic GameDuell games. After successfully passing this task with flying colors, the team concluded the surprise by presenting a 10 Years Anniversary cake to them.
As is customary with every GameDuell company event, we proceeded to our team activity. This time it was office golf. Our offices were separated into six golf courses and 40 teams had a blast competing for the best score. The winning team was honored with a free team lunch in a restaurant nearby.
After the excitement calmed down a bit, we drove to our party location, “Pirates Berlin”. A rich dinner buffet for all tastes and free drinks were awaiting us. With team members taking turns as DJs, the team partied until 4 am on the dance floor.
It was great fun and we are looking forward to our next company event!
