Building on the strength as one of the largest cross-platform games communities in the world and following the recent successes of its Belote.com and Grand Gin Rummy card games, GameDuell will focus on its core business of community card and board games.
Focus on expanding core business
The company is going to expand its popular games and community web platform GameDuell.com. In addition, GameDuell will continue to develop community card and board games for mobile, Facebook and web on its dedicated cross-platform technology and infrastructure that GameDuell has built up over the recent 24 months.
As part of the effort, the Berlin-based games company closes its in-house arcade game development studio. GameDuell thanks all leaving team members for their valuable contribution and is supporting them in finding adequate new career opportunities.
“GameDuell has traditionally been very strong in developing synchronous multiplayer card and board games and building communities around them. The market of hit-driven arcade games has become extremely competitive. We feel that we can achieve more for our community of players by focusing on the areas, where we are one of the market leaders. As part of our strategy, we will now focus on our core strengths in developing and operating community games and utilizing our cross-platform technology. In this field we have a healthy business with a proven track record of 13 years”, comments the CEO of GameDuell, Kai Bolik.
GameDuell has just launched its new multiplayer card game Grand Gin Rummy as a free-to-play mobile app on iOS and Android in late February. Right from launch it was featured globally by Apple in the App Store as one of the best new mobile games. A Facebook version is planned to be released in April.
